My First Time Surfing
I am going to tell about my first time surfing
On the 17th of March 2021, my class; the Year 7 and 8's, walked from our school to the New Brighton Beach. We were there to learn surfing. My mum; Liz Dick came to be a parent helper. When we got there we were placed into our Maths groups. Our instructors were from the company Stoke. The first group were surfing first, but they first had to learn how to stand up, so that meant my group was able to play in the playground. After we had to finish playing it was our turn.
For me the most exciting thing was to be able to stand up a couple of times. When I was standing up I wanted that moment to stay there forever, it was just so exhilarating, and enjoyable, but sadly the moment stopped and I fell off. I also enjoyed floating my board over the waves, but I only FLOATED over, other times the waves would just crash against my board. I would want to surf again, when we went home I told my dad that I wanted to surf again, and he said I could start surfing lessons, and if I really enjoyed that, I could get my own surfboard.
I felt like I was enjoying myself and happy, and it felt super extraordinary. I felt proud that they were able to do it as well and on my last wave I accidentally ran over one of my friends boards.
